Day 1
Arrival in Antigua
- You’ll be met on arrival and transferred by private taxi from Guatemala City airport to Antigua, followed by hotel check-in.
- Orient yourself with a private guided walking tour of Antigua, focused on tradition, daily rhythms, and how the city functions today.


Day 2
Markets & Volcanic Terrain
- Begin the day with a guided morning market visit, focused on everyday ingredients, food customs, and how markets structure local life; lunch is optional, with recommendations provided.
- 2:00 pm pickup from your hotel for a guided hike on Pacaya Volcano, following rural trails up the volcano’s flank with wide views across the valley.
- Return to Antigua in the evening, with dinner recommended at Itzam or Maxán, both known for contemporary interpretations of Mayan cuisine in relaxed, intimate settings.


Day 3
Community & Craft
- Meet your guide in the morning and travel by chicken bus to the rural village of San Antonio Aguas Calientes, offering an everyday view of local transport and movement.

Day 4

- 4:00 am pickup for a shared shuttle journey toward Río Dulce, watching the highland mountains fall away as the road drops into lowland plains and river systems.
- Arrive late morning in the river town of Río Dulce.
- Continue by boat transfer through jungle waterways to your hotel, marking the transition into a slower, river-based landscape.
- Check in at Casa Tijax and spend the afternoon swimming, resting, and enjoying fresh fruit and the Caribbean air.


Day 5
Jungle Waterways & Stone

Day 7

Tikal at Sunrise
- 3:00 am pickup for transfer to Tikal National Park for the sunrise tour and hike.

You’ll fly into Guatemala City International Airport (GUA). All routes include a private transfer from the airport to Antigua on arrival, and onward transfers as outlined in your itinerary. If your route ends in Antigua or Lake Atitlán, we’ll coordinate your return transfer to Guatemala City for departure.
We recommend arriving in Guatemala City by early afternoon to allow time for airport formalities and the transfer to Antigua. Your welcome activity is scheduled for the evening. If you arrive later, our team will adjust logistics to ensure a smooth arrival.
Departures should be scheduled for late morning or later on your final day. If your route ends at Lake Atitlán, we’ll provide guidance on transfer timing back to Guatemala City to ensure a comfortable departure window.
